Richard Levi of South Africa has broken the previously held fastest century record of Chris Gayle.

- Fastest T20 Century: 100 of 45 Balls
- Most Sixes in a T20 Innings: 13 Sixes
- Equaled the Highest Score in T20: 117 of 51 Balls
Richard Levi smashed two of Gayle’s records – the most sixes in an innings (13; Gayle 10) and the fastest to reach a century (45 balls; Gayle 50) – and equaled the highest score previously held by the West Indian. New Zealand captain McCullum’s 116 not out now drops to third on the list.

A modest Richard Levi commented after his explosive innings in an interview about his comparison to the greats like Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum stating:
“I think if Chris Gayle and Brendon were opening here they might have got it in nine overs,” Levi joked. “They are special players. They have been doing it years. I have done it just once, maybe if I do it more often – only then can I be considered one of them.”
