Virender Sehwag broke the previous world record by Sachin Tendulkar, and went past the score of 200 and set the new world record by hitting 219 runs in a single ODI innings, in the 4th ODI against West Indies. He is the first player in the world to cross the score of 200 in the limited overs match innings, as it was 200 by Sachin.
